Description
You are purchasing-
1 x HMS10-12MM-21.3 5/8"x12MMx21.3MM STEEL MISALIGNMENT SPACER
(Sold singular, please select 2 x per Joint you require)
These are great for bolting Heim & Spherical Joints into Metric vehicles such as Commodores and Japanese Cars.
DIMENSIONS-
INSIDE DIA- 12mm (Bolt Size)
OUTSIDE DIA- 5/8" (Rod End/Spherical Joint Bore Size)
INSTALLED HEIGHT- 21.3mm (Width of the Spacer, not including the shank that slips inside the Rod End/Spherical Joint)
This Spacer will give you a total installed width (when running 2 x Spacers, 1 x Joint) of:
5/8" HEIM JOINT- 2.42"/61.5mm (3/4"x5/8" Heim joint for example)
5/8" SPHERICAL BEARING- 2.30" /58.5mm
SPACER ADAPTER MATERIAL- STEEL (electro plated)
Great for reducing the Bore size of a Heim Joint (for example stepping a 5/8" bore down to suit a 1/2" bolt) and/or to increase the amount of angular misalignment the Rod End is capable of, typically for suspension joints that have a great amount of travel, such as: Control Arms/Tie/Toe Rods to Steering Knuckles/Rear Knuckles etc
Uses in Automotive and Racing
-
Suspension Systems: These spacers are commonly used in suspension setups to allow for greater angular movement of rod ends (Heim joints). This is crucial in racing vehicles where suspension components need to handle extreme articulation during high-speed maneuvers.
-
Steering Systems: In steering linkages, misalignment spacers ensure smooth operation by allowing rod ends to pivot freely, reducing stress on the components and improving handling precision.
-
Custom Fabrication: They are often used in custom builds to adapt rod ends to specific bolt sizes, making them versatile for various applications.
Benefits
-
Enhanced Range of Motion: By increasing the angular movement of rod ends, these spacers improve the flexibility and performance of suspension and steering systems.
-
Reduced Stress: They minimize stress on rod ends and brackets, extending the lifespan of components.
-
Precision Alignment: Misalignment spacers help maintain precise alignment, which is critical for optimal performance in racing conditions.
-
Versatility: They can adapt rod ends to different bolt sizes, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
Our Spacers and Adapters are not only manufactured to the highest of quality control standards but are designed and engineered to an extreme duty construction, specific to the requirements of Australian Drag, Drift & Circuit Racers as well as Off-Road Race classes.
